Together with our partners from Pounding Paws Kennels we make up Leavenworth Dog Sled Adventures. Operating just 30 minutes outside of Leavenworth, WA, we have several options available to accommodate your family.
All of our tours are by appointment only, mid December through March. Call today to book your family's adventure!
Information:
1. We will call you 24-48 hours prior to your scheduled ride/tour to confirm your arrival and trip details. Inclement weather and adverse trail conditions all play a role in our ability to operate our tours. In the event we can not give the tour due to weather, trail or other conditions we will make every attempt to contact you and reschedule. In the event you book a ride and do not show up, we will bill your credit card for the full amount of the scheduled fare. Please make every effort to keep your appointment for the scheduled ride/tour.
2. Please plan to arrive 30 minutes in advance of your scheduled tour departure time. It is at this time that we will have you pay your balance due, sign a liability and release waiver (required for all our guests), and meet the dogs and musher that will be taking you out on the trail. We book several tours each day and each tour will leave promptly as scheduled. Failure to arrive on time may result in forfeiture of your tour time slot as well as monies paid.
3. Pay attention to cold weather gear. Guests are responsible for dressing warmly and being prepared for winter weather. While our sled bags are lined with fleece and blankets, we still recommend dressing in several layers. Pay close attention to foot, hand, and head gear. Sunglasses or goggles help reduce the glare of the snow.
4. Minimum age for our dog sled tours is 6 years old. You will be assigned a musher/sled depending on the number of people in your group and each person's weight. In most cases we can have 1-2 adults, or 1 adult and/or 1-2 children (300lbs max), per sled. We recommend only one person per sled for our 2+ hour tours as the sled basket can get cramped. Children under 10 must ride with a paying adult.
5. A snow park permit is required at the Fish Lake Snow Park where we will be departing for all our 1 and 2+ hour tours. They can be purchased for $21 locally at Mid-Way Village Grocery or at Parkside Grocery located on your way to the snow park.
7. Be sure to bring a camera or camcorder with fresh batteries and your sense of adventure. If you have any questions not answered here please do not hesitate to contact us. We look forward to taking you out on the trail!
